Designed For Subtle Adjustments

A breast augmentation increases the size  of your breasts. With fat grafting, the breast volume is increased with  fat from your own body. Fat grafting breast augmentations are best suited for making minor breast volume increases (no more than a cup size). Fat grafting can also be useful in correcting small shape deficits that need more precise enhancement than is possible with an off-the-shelf implant.

What Is The Benefit Of Fat Grafting?

Fat grafting is a powerful tool used for making precise corrections. The technique was first used during reconstructive surgeries for breast cancer survivors. It was so effective at restoring small shape irregularities that plastic surgeons have increasingly used it for aesthetic breast surgery as well. Fat grafting allows plastic surgeons to sculpt a more perfect breast shape.

This method is also ideal for those who want slightly larger breasts but are apprehensive about using implants. In thin patients with little breast fat, implant outlines are often visible. Saline implants sometimes ripple, causing an undesirable look. Fat grafting is used as camouflage in these instances.

How Does The Process Work?

First, liposuction is used to remove excess fat from another part of the body - typically the hips, buttocks, abdomen or thighs. To do this, Dr. Bass makes small incisions and uses a small liposuction cannula to harvest the fat. Next, the fatty tissue is processed during the procedure to remove blood, oil, and unwanted fluids from the fat.

Dr. Bass then makes 1-2 mm incisions to transfer the fat into the target areas of the breast. The fat is injected using small fat injection needles to create a three-dimensional restoration of the desired breast shape. This procedure is minimally invasive and requires less recovery than standard breast augmentation.

A Shortened Recovery Period

The recovery for a breast augmentation with fat transfer is shorter and more comfortable than the traditional breast augmentation. For an hour after the procedure, you will remain under observation in our clinic. Then, with the help of a relative, friend, or medical aide, you will return home to recuperate.

Most patients are able to resume light desk work and socializing in a few days.. Exercise is typically permissible after two weeks. Dr. Bass will create a customized recovery plan for each patient and schedule a series of follow-up appointments to follow the progress of your healing.

Subtle, Satisfying Results

With an augmentation performed with fat grafting, patients can expect beautiful, smooth breasts that are slightly larger than they were before the procedure. Dr. Bass specializes in natural, subtle results. His goal is to help patients look like the best version of themselves.

Is A Fat Grafting Breast Augmentation Right For Me?

If you want slightly fuller breasts but would prefer to avoid major surgery and the use of synthetic materials, a breast augmentation via fat grafting is worth considering.

Fat grafting breast augmentations are minimally invasive and as such, require less downtime. In addition, the accompanying liposuction will have a slimming effect on the area the fat was taken from, meaning either your hips, thighs, or buttocks will be leaner as well.
